The Best Homemade Gravy from Scratch (quick and easy)

Ingredients
  

  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup flour all purpose or einkorn
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2/3 tsp sea salt
  • pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Melt butter in medium skillet on medium to high heat. see notes.
  • Once butter is melted whisk in flour until you have a creamy light brown roux
  • Once roux is formed and light brown pour in two cups of milk
  • Whisk until incorporated and once thickened turn heat to low
  • Add in salt and pepper then serve immediately over food of choice!

Notes

The butter will melt fast. Quickly add in your flour and keep a close eye on it so flour and butter mixture doesn't burn.
