You can’t get any easier than melt and pour soap (your welcome busy yet intentional Mama) and I love how this clean swap for an all natural dish soap bar is even more cost effective than dish soap from the store and doubles as hand soap. Not to mention its so much cuter sitting on the ledge of your sink instead of those plastic dish soap bottles.
DIY Dish Soap Bars
Making your own dish soap bars can save you a lot of money compared to buying dish soap from the store. It also serves as hand soap making it two in one! I know not everyone has a DIY spirit which is why I love this recipe. It’s a melt and pour recipe so it only takes a few steps and a few minutes for you to whip up some dish soap yourself. This recipe will make 8 bars of soap making it roughly $1 per bar. As a Mom, and a stay at home mom at that, I want to use clean products in our home and I’m always looking for the most cost effective way to do so.
All Natural Dish Soap Bars
I don’t know about you, but I find myself washing dishes multiple times a day every single day. So I love having a soap that is free from harsh chemicals, synthetic fragrances, and preservatives. I find this soap isn’t harsh on my skin and doesnt leave me with dry hands. It actually does the opposite! The lemon and orange oil used in this recipe are great for cleaning, disinfecting, and cutting grease while also being a great natural mood booster. We can all use a little of that while washing dishes. 😉 While the shea butter mosturizes your hands and improves skin texture and tone.

How to Make Your Own All Natural Dish Soap Bar
The first step to making your own all natural dish soap bars is to chop up the melt and pour soap and melt it according to the instructions on the package.
Once melted add in 30 drops each of lemon essential oil and orange essential oil per pound of melt and pour soap.
Next zest one whole lemon into the soap and stir to combine.
Pour into your soap molds and let sit for at least 40 mins or overnight. Once hardened pop it into your soap dish and set out on the sink to use for washing dishes and washing your hands. Store the extras in a cool dry place. You are free to use immediately but you will find the ones stored away will have a stronger scent as they’ve had more time to cure.
