Authentic Mexican Rice with Bone Broth

A light and fluffy authentic mexican rice using whole ingredients packed with added nutrients using bone broth as its base.

Equipment

  • large skillet with tall sides

Ingredients
  

  • 3 tbsp avacado oil or olive oil
  • 2 cups long grain rice
  • 2 cups bone broth chicken or beef
  • 2/3 cups water
  • 1 tsp garlic
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 8 0z can of tomato sauce

Instructions
 

  • Heat avocado or olive oil in a large skillet with tall sides over medium heat. Add the rice and and sauté until toasted and golden brown. The more toasted the better. Stir continuously to prevent burning.
  • Once toasted, add bone broth and water.
  • Immediately follow with 8 oz. can of tomato sauce and spices, stirring until well combined.
  • Once boiling cover with lid and reduce heat to low for 20 mins.
  • Remove from heat and let sit until ready to use. Fluff with fork and serve.
